Pastoral Search
Our pastor of 22 years has recently retired from his ministry at Faith Baptist Church. We are seeking the Lord’s will for His next under-shepherd to lead Faith Baptist Church. If you have been called to the ministry and are interested in joining in the Lord’s work in Orono, please complete the introductory questionnaire linked below and submit it to our pulpit search committee. Also, please contact Ken Knightly at kenknightly64@gmail.com to request an electronic copy of our church constitution for review.
Ron and Sheryl were both raised in central Florida and grew up attending good, independent Baptist Churches with their families. Although they had no interest in each other at the time, they knew each other throughout their teenage years while attending a Christian Academy. Through God’s ordained circumstances, the Lord brought them together in their early twenties, and they were joined together in marriage in September of 1984. The Lord has blessed them with two children and two grandchildren.
Ron placed his trust in Jesus at the age of fourteen. Even though he was raised in church and heard the gospel throughout his early life, it was during a Sunday morning service when the Spirit of God convicted him of his need to be saved. He went forward during the invitation, repenting toward God and placing his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sheryl also heard the gospel throughout her early childhood. With a genuine heart to please her parents, she said the sinner’s prayer when she was five years old; she always knew it was to please man. She lived under the conviction of the Holy Spirit for years, and it wasn’t until age twenty-seven that she responded to Him during a church service and trusted Jesus as her personal Savior.
Ron and Sheryl have been serving the Lord in full-time ministry for over thirty years. Most of that time, Ron ministered in the role of pastor, Sheryl serving as a faithful helpmeet with him. Recently, the Lord led them into a new ministry serving independent Baptist Churches in New England. Currently, the Lord has allowed them to serve Him by ministering to this Faith Baptist Church and to the wonderful people in this area, such as yourself.
